Alexis Hawthorne was always the one everyone knew would succeed in life. They had good grades, a wealthy family, and despite what one would expect, a healthy social circle. Those who knew them in high school and college saw a perfectly put together high achiever who didn't have a lot of time to talk to people. But those who truly knew them that underneath it all, Alexis had an obessession: prove the supernatural was real. Ever since the mysterious incident that lead to Selby's brief disappearence, they'd been fixated on the idea that there was more to the world than meets the eye.
While combing through dusty tomes, Alexis found scraps of a mysterious ritual that couldn't be traced back to any particular source. Using their suite of occult knowledge, they reverse engineered the instructions and performed the ritual. They saw the world change before their eyes, the true nature of every thing around them at least revealed for one beautiful moment before they were knocked unconscious.
When they awoke, a mysterious sigil only they could see rested upon the back of their hand, and the world would never look the same again.
